HISTORY

Cancer Care India (CACI), a non profit registered society, is the ‘Apex Body’ of voluntary cancer support groups in the country. The decision to form the body was taken on 26th Nov 2000, at the first ‘All India Cancer Support Groups Conference’, organized by ‘Cancer Sahyog’, at the India International Centre, New Delhi. It was a response to the urgently felt need to create a common platform and unite efforts to combat the growing menace of cancer at the national and international level. Started with 9 member groups has grown to 54 strong Member Groups, 51 are spread over 20 states/ UTs in India and 3 overseas (Maldives, Mauritius and Nepal).
